Liphakoe Football Club is a football club based in Moyeni, Quthing District, Lesotho. The club play in the Lesotho Premier League.
History
The club were established in the 1940s and played in the Lesotho Premier League in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s before being relegated in 2002. In 2013–14 the club finished as runners-up in the Southern stream of the A Division, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Premier League. However, they won the Top 8 championship, beating Roma Boys 3–2 in the final. The 2014–15 season saw the club won the Southern stream of the A Division, earning promotion to the Premier League.
Der Liphakoe Football Club ist ein Fußballverein aus Lesotho und hat seinen Sitz in Maseru. Er wurde 1931 gegründet und ist einer der ältesten Vereine in Lesotho. Liphakoe FC spielt in der Lesotho Premier League, der höchsten Spielklasse des Landes, und hat den nationalen Meistertitel bisher viermal gewonnen (1977, 1978, 1990 und 2004). Außerdem hat der Verein fünfmal den Lesotho Cup gewonnen (1979, 1980, 1990, 2003 und 2006) und ist damit der erfolgreichste Verein in diesem Wettbewerb.
Liphakoe FC hat sich auch auf internationaler Ebene einen Namen gemacht. Der Verein hat zweimal am CAF Champions Cup teilgenommen (1991 und 2005) und einmal am CAF Cup (2004). Außerdem hat Liphakoe FC mehrmals am Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup teilgenommen und konnte diesen Wettbewerb 2004 gewinnen.
Liphakoe FC ist ein sehr beliebter Verein in Lesotho und hat eine große Fangemeinde. Der Verein trägt seine Heimspiele im Setsoto Stadium in Maseru aus.
